Stationery Warrior: Self-Introduction

Nice to meet you, everyone!

This is “Stationery Warrior”, and I love stationery.

First of all, you probably want to know why I am introducing myself as “Stationery Warrior”. Allow me to explain.

In the old days of the samurai, when a samurai traveled for training, the trip was called “Musha Shugyo” or “Warrior Training”. It was a very long trip to polish one’s martial arts skills, and one might have taken years.

But even in our modern day, in visiting various places, in practicing various hobbies, with various contemporary activities, wouldn’t you consider that modern people are honing their life skills? Personally, I certainly think so. I think that everyday life can be like warrior training. From that idea the “warrior” part came out. Something like “a warrior of life”.

From there, one of the daily modern life activities is handwriting. Well, in recent years mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, etc. have become famous, but handwriting remains vital for modern life. For that reason, stationery still remain important tools of modern life as well. Also, depending on how you use them, you can also raise your artistic skills by keeping a diary or sketching.

In my case, I write handwritten notes in my office everyday, so I look for a smooth writing experience. Although my Cross ballpoint pen is very useful, in the end there is a limit on the smoothness of the writing experience. That, and not being able to find a refill for my Cross ballpoint pen, and having an interest in calligraphy, I decided to buy a fountain pen. I wasn’t interested in stationery, I just wanted a smooth writing experience.

But even if I already got a very smooth writing experience after writing notes in my notebook with my new fountain pen and a blue-black ink cartridge, I thought that I could have smoother writing on other papers . Also, it seemed that the writing could be more beautiful with the use other color inks.

Thus, my interest in stationery was born.

So this blog will be a diary on my journey to explore stationery. In this stationery diary, I will write and share reviews on fountain pens, inks, and papers that I have used. I will be writing stuff like first impressions, things I learned from long-term use, my opinions regarding who might find the items useful, etc. I haven’t decided yet whether or not I would like to include stuff like technical specs, but I will definitely write the feelings I felt when using the stationery I’m reviewing. 😆

My hope is, by writing my realizations and share them with everyone, useful information would be shared with newcomers to the stationery hobby. Also, for people looking for a way to relieve stress by disconnecting from the modern world, I would like to recommend taking up stationery as a hobby.

I am still a beginner in stationery, too, so I think that there are many things that we could still learn together.

So, won’t you take this stationery journey with this Stationery Warrior? 😊

See you on the journey! 😆
